Tristan's Birth Story

On Friday 9.16 I was six days away from my induction date and 10 days away from my due date.  I got off work and my feet were so swollen. I picked up the girls and we made sloppy joes for dinner. I generally nest about a week before so I decided to clean. If you know me I can't stand my house to be messy. So Landon and I cleaned the house from top to bottom. I cleaned all three bathrooms and bedrooms, floors, baseboards, bathtubs etc. Finally we went to bed around 10 or so. I woke up about three am to use the bathroom and went right back to sleep. Around 3:40 I woke up to a pool of water. I started hitting Landon to wake up. I told him I thought my water had broken but I may have peed my pants. But since it kept coming I said we needed to go to the hospital. I'm so happy this didn't happen in public.  I hadn't shaved in a few days so I got in the tub and shaved prior to leaving.  Then got the girls up, and drove them over to Mel's house. When we got to the hospital they admitted us and I was only at a four and surprisingly wasn't having painful contractions. I got my epidural around 8am. It was pretty painful this time but a relief.  After the epidural I puked my guts out all through labor and delivery. It was pretty funny because at one point Landon broke the puke bag dispenser off the wall.  Around 9:15 they checked me and I was still at a four. Landon left to the cafeteria and came back about ten minutes later. Around 9:30-945 it felt like I had a huge amount of pressure and I had the nurse come in. She told us that I was at a nine and needed to be careful because the dr was still on his way. Since I was still throwing up it was hard not to push. The dr got there about 10:15 and I delivered her at 10:22. It basically only took two contractions since she was so ready. While delivering the doctor said she has a cleft lip. This was pretty shocking to me. She also didn't cry and finally let out one little scream. They weighed and measured and she was 19 1/2 in and 8 pounds 3 ounces. They set her down on me and I was so shocked to see her little lip.  We had her pictures done at the hospital and they did such a great job. She can eat great and so far has been the easiest baby. She didn't even cry during her blood sugar test. I've been waking her up ever four hours or so to eat and after she eats she usually stays up for 30 minutes or so just to sit and stare. It's so cute. Landon is so good with her too. He's such a natural dad. I love it.  Here's some prego pics.
